Bury Christian Fellowship
Many people ask:

"How on earth can you believe in God today? Hasn't science made God a thing of the past?"
The fact is that, far from being a thing of the past, God is alive and well and at work in the lives of people all over the world.
The following extracts testify to that. All are taken from the experiences of people living in and around the Bury area.

"...God healed me from past experiences that filled me with self pity and rejection.."

The same woman goes on to write how, when she was considering suicide, a friend told her how Jesus loved her so much,
that He willingly gave up His life for her on the cross. Shortly afterwards, she gave her life to Jesus
and He healed her of her hurt and turned her life around in a wonderful way…

"...I felt unloved and not worth anything. Now God has filled me with His love and freed me from the chains and hurts of my past... I'm overwhelmed by God's great love for me, and all He's done for me..."

God delights to show His love in small things as well as in the big crises in life, as is shown in these simple testimonies:

"Prayed last Sunday for healing - chest infection - much better this Sunday."

"He helped me to stop smoking. I had no withdrawal problems - He replaced a bad habit with a great love!"

"I was suffering from tennis elbow. It meant I had to give up my work as a painter and decorator. A young boy had a word of knowledge that someone had trouble with an elbow. He prayed for me and I was completely healed."

"I asked Ruth to pray (for the pain in my back).
The intensity of the pain went immediately and by the end of the meeting it had gone altogether."

"Before my daughter was born the doctors diagnosed spina bifida. I prayed and fasted and God healed her....."

Every Christian has a story they could share of how God has rescued them from sin and its consequences.
Often these include wonderful examples of healing.

It's always thrilling to hear such stories, but by far the most thrilling experience of all is to experience God's love personally.
