Have you ever thought:

"There must be more to life than this...?"

Well, there is!
We are not the result of an accident of nature or a mindless evolutionary process.

We were made by God.

He loves His creation and wants the people He has made to enjoy it all in fellowship with Him.

To put it simply: God wants us to be His friends.

But human choice long ago put a distance between us and God that has affected everyone since.
That choice was to disobey God. Look where that has got us!
We can see many examples of the results of that disobedience: violence, dishonesty, greed, poverty, physical and mental illness. And death.

The good news is that God has never given up on his plan.

He has made a way for the gap to be bridged and for us to be restored to his presence and friendship.

That was no easy matter!

What was needed was for God to deal with all the disobedience of all the people who have ever lived and ever will live,
in such a way that it doesn't come between us and God any more.

This is where Jesus comes in.

He is the Son of God.

He never disobeyed God. He came to earth 2000 years ago to show us how we ought to live. And to pay the price for our disobedience. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our wrongs - making the way clear for you and me to come to God as friends.
